Household decoration -or part of a woman's attire. The people living in Beacon Hill,Boston, were hoi polloi and would not allow "riff raff" to live in that posh part of town. No, you had to be W.A.S.P.s .
The TV series "Beacon Hill" was heavy on sets & costumery, but weak on story & characterization. It was cancelled after but 15 episodes, and nothing was resolved.
